At Your behest, I started watching your other videos, and surprise ,surprise , you’re just as great in those as you were in the Titan videos. You really know how to deliver information, without being confusing, 6:32 and you do it in a way that’s not irritating. You have a natural ability to speak to people clearly and entertainingly. There seems that we were introduced months ago, to the many potential underground hazards that exist in Grindavik . It’s hard the believe that some of the residents think it is Honky Dorey to live there still. My prayers for the people of Grindavik. Is it possible that due to the new height of the lava build up that there is a new magma tunnel and that is what is feeding the new lava flow!

the shallow chamber is alot bigger now so i think the same amount of magma going in but it will take longer to push the land back up so alot more magma next time

It is a bit curious how the elevation data and magma volume estimations have higher starting points for all but one event. It is as if each event is saving some change for the next one. The run-up to June's event was much slower for the first two weeks. We're barely two weeks beyond the initial dip, plenty of time for that trend to bend upwards.

Hey Silki, there is a lot of geological research being done in Iceland, and the news focuses mainly on the human experience with Mother Earth's shenanigans. Which all makes sense, but I also would like to know in what ways these eruptions affect other forms of life on the peninsula. Are there certain behaviours in, for example, puffins and Arctic foxes that occur nowhere else? Do you happen to know if there is any wildlife research taking place on Reykjanes? Thanks for all you do, your pleasant volcano reporting😊

In December 2004 we were at Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island the day after 9.1 Indian Ocean earthquake. We looked at the ocean differently that day and on every visit since (there have been many). In the years that followed, Tusnami warning zones, evacuation routes, and muster points were set up, yet I'm not sure that any of them are really high enough for a 9 or higher quake with veritical displacement but at least there has been some effort put into a plan. We have often thought about how long it takes to drive between points in that area and if it would even be possible to get to higher ground. Even back then we were familiar with the research that showed evidence of major quakes of the BC coast from attending geology conferences in the late 80's to mid-90's when the original research was being presented. I'm appalled, but not surprised at the attitude of the Italian politicians. If you haven't seen it already, watch the Supervolcano movie (available on youtube). My husband shows it to his students as an example of what happens when politicians get in the way of making good, but unpopular decisions.

Geology hub finally mentioned that glacial peak volcano went off at identical time to last cascadia slip 1700. There is a correlation says natives. Geology hub geologist guy seems to explain how a slip triggers waiting volcanoes. That is what i worry about. West coast volcano ruptures at same time as a big quake and a tsunami. That'll be great.😢 (Sorry for accidentally plugging another show i just meant a geologist said the timing was identical to cascadia slip and i do not like to say anything scary without citations of my source)

Personally, I wouldn't want to live in the shadow (or on top) of a volcano, on a major fault line, or in a hurricane zone. They're all equally dangerous to me. Unfortunately, climate change has created a slightly higher tornado risk where I live (SW Ontario), but I can live with that.

Yet I'll be up to them. A community if they want to build something that may get destroyed, you know that may happen to. Morrow earthquake Volcano destroy everything. Of course, it may happen in a 100000 years them. Now, too no one knows when it's gonna happen. D*** government keep trying to take everybody's right the way people don't have rights on me. They won't have money to give the f****** government to blow huh.

I am actually quite insulted by your unfair take of the Cascadia situation. First, is it really a competition? Second there are at least four active volcanoes beside Cascadia but one of the six true supervolcanoes is in S Cal ... beside Cascadia ... and is considered still active. The ENTIRE West Coast could give way at the same time and I bet that population is close to the same as the entire country of Italy. YOu are so condescending - "at least you have time to run away." Oh really???? From the Lahars if the Volcs go? From the Pyroclastic Flows? From the Tsunami? Run away while the ground is violently shaking for a quarter hour. Good Jeepers goodness! If Cascadia is the 9.5 or more as predicted vertical shaking can exceed THREE TIMES THE FORCE OF GRAVITY. Who TF is going to be running or even standing??? After ten or fifteen minutes of being propelled into the air at 3G then falling at 1G and then meeting the uprising ground at 3G REPEATEDLY ... seriously ... run away? Most people will be dead in less than a minute if the shaking is as predicted. If you are trapped in rubble you are just ground to a coarse liquid as if in a hammer mill. . The entire east side of Van Isle is coal mines. Sure gonna be easy to run away when your residence is falling into the mine below which is rapidly filling with sea water. Wait, I'll just run away ... I could go on about the geologic instabilities inland which would be effected and just add catastrophe on catastrophe. But ..... Enough is Enough.

Everything west of I5 may be true in the USA but is it? A quake that big could easily trigger events (landslides, dam collapses, bridge collapses) far inland in Canada. All the terrain east of the West Coast is mountainous and susceptible to all sorts of related geological activity. There will be plenty of destruction east of I5 which will affect rescue, remediation and recovery. Land uprise is being recorded and some of the local active volcanoes are increasing in activity.

Along the Cascadia Subduction Zone, the highest number of tremors in a thirty day period has now been recorded. There was a 4.1 in S Cal a few days ago. An earthquake in this area would be an equal or worse disalter esp since some of the local volcanoes are awakening. These are subduction volcanoes caused by plate movement; same for the Eastern Med. All the volcanoes in the E Med area have been caused by plate movement which means they could trigger each other although that is still prob in the hypothetical category and more data is required. I wonder why Cascadia is not getting any MSM or otherwise coverage? Anyway, enjoy your own personal, particular, regional Apocalypse.

Your 'take' on things going on in the world is always interesting! 😊 My feeling is that the governments in our world do not always care about the people in their countries. Well, gut feeling if worst case happens summertime eruption of Cascadia + San Andreas 9.5 from lower Ca up to BC = LA has 20 million alone, add another 20 million in northern cities w riots starvation including major tsunamis, many millions perish/displaced ~~ Naple's area under 5 million w chance to evacuate now, they are being warned!! Whereas on West Coast major fault rupture may be >decades away or tomorrow ~~ throw of the dice!! ~~
